In direct proximity to an old concrete-structured façade, the mural references wall designs of the GDR. Its optical illusion of a curve within the play of colors alludes to optician Ernst Abbe, after whom the street is named. The recurring shrinking and expanding of the pattern symbolizes the demographic changes of Halle-Neustadt. The work embodies what I always strive for: a symbiosis between artwork and the urban space it inhabits.
