During my residence for K-Bach Gallery i worked on a free wallproject. I got a couple of days to think about a concept and really wanted to do something local people could relate to. So i wandered around the city – taking pictures and visiting the cambodian water festival. The gathering that took place from 10-13.11.2019 celebrates the time when Tonle Sap river literally reverses its flow. A unique sight with hundreds of boats competing in a race. The energy and colours i felt on the riverfront during sunset led to that painting.
